Look how our garden has grown!

Today we visited our vegetable garden and sampled some of our produce.  Nine pupils out of our class ate scallions for the first time and thought they were delicious!

Europe
 Winning Poem by Fabien

If in Europe and you’re Hungary to eat,
Try some Turkey roasted in Greece
If you’re thirsty when you dine
Spain, Germany, France and Italy make great wine.

Switzerland is famous for it’s watches
And more importantly, it’s yummy chocolates!
Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg take a short cut
Together they are know as the Benelux
Malta and Cyprus are very small
Russia is the biggest of them all.

Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway
Together they tell a fiercesome story,
Of Long Ships and hairy Vikings,
Raiders who are very frightening.

Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are great,
Together they make up the Baltic States.
Old Mrs. Kelleher knew it as Czechoslovakia
These days divided into Czech Republic and Slovakia.
When she was young Croatia, Slovenia and Serbia
Were even part of Yugoslavia!

For vampires visit Transylvania
When you are next in Romania.
Poland gave us pope John Paul
Who came to Ireland to visit all.
Portugal is good for the sun,
In Austria’s mountains you can have some fun.

If you can think of something to rhyme with Bulgaria
Then I say – well fair play to ya!!

United Kingdom is an island
Made up of Scotland, England, wales and Northern Ireland
Ireland is way out west

But it is the country I like to live in best.

In our school play we did the X-mas Factor. There were four judges; Nicole, Louis, Sharon and Simon and there were also three acts; a girl band, a boy band and madam Zimmer; an old lady. Dermot O' Leary was the host. As it was nearly Christmas, we sang lots of Christmas songs. At the end, there was a big surprise when Sharon started to sing her song instead of an act. The show was held in Kilcornan Hall on the 5th of December at 7pm. We really enjoyed being involved in the play.
