Our Rock Collection

In Geography we studied different rocks found in Ireland and around the world.  We discovered that rocks can be hard or soft, permeable or impermeable and have many different uses such as, walls, roads, roofing, kitchen work tops and jewellery.

In our collection we have limestone from Co. Galway, Basalt from the Giants Causeway, Co. Antrim,  Red Jasper, Tiger Eye and Agate from South Africa and Turqurenite from France.

Drama - Life on a coffin ship

In drama class we created freeze frame images of people travelling on coffin ships from Ireland to America in the 1850s.
